Alpha & Omega Semiconductor Ltd. asked a California federal court for a judgment that certain of its transistors used in products including portable computers, smartphones, and flat-panel televisions don’t infringe a patent held by Taiwan-based Force MOS Technology Co.
Force MOS sent AOS a cease-and-desist letter Sept. 14 alleging that one of its power metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors, or MOSFETs, infringes a Force MOS patent related to the technology, according to a complaint filed Sept. 23 in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
