Akamai Accused of Infringing Cybersecurity Technology Patents

Cybersecurity firm SunStone Information Defense Inc. sued Akamai Technologies Inc., alleging the cloud services company’s account protector infringes its cybersecurity technology patents.

Akamai’s product uses similar methods for cybersecurity as US Patent Nos. 9,122,870, 10,958,682, 11,283,833, 11,943,255, and 12,368,753, according to a May 1 complaint filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The protected technology works against malicious software and hackers, SunStone said.
