AI Artist’s Attorney Granted Request to Withdraw from Suit (1)

A federal judge granted an attorney’s renewed request to withdraw from representing an artist suing the US Copyright Office over denied registration for AI-generated work.

Tamara Pester on Wednesday moved to withdraw from the case in the US District Court for the District of Colorado, arguing her removal is mandatory under the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct because of a conflict of interest between her and her client Jason Allen. Judge William J. Martinez granted the request the same day in a docket order for “good cause shown.”
