Adidas Alleges Fashion Nova Copied ‘Iconic’ Stan Smith Shoes

Adidas America Inc. accused Fashion Nova Inc. in Oregon federal court of infringing the trade dress of its “iconic” Stan Smith sneaker, which includes three rows of perforations along the side of the shoe and a colored heel patch.

Fashion Nova began offering a knockoff that “imitates every element” of the Stan Smith sneaker and was aware it would cause confusion among consumers and dilute Adidas’ trademark, according to the complaint filed Thursday at the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.
