Activision Should Face Trial in Pro Wrestler’s Suit, Judge Says

Activision Blizzard Inc. was recommended to face trial in Texas federal court in a dispute with pro wrestler Booker T. Huffman over a “Call of Duty” character that allegedly rips off a character of his.

A magistrate judge said in a report entered Monday that the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas should deny Activision’s bid for summary judgment, finding fact issues as to whether Huffman, who often performed as “Booker T,” owned the rights to his “G.I. Bro” character and whether the company copied it, among other things.
