Active Copyright Lawyer Owes $28,000 for Withholding Information

Well-known copyright lawyer Richard Liebowitz’s firm was ordered by a Manhattan federal court to pay his opponents attorneys’ fees for discovery misconduct.

On Dec. 17 the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York calculated the amount owed by Liebowitz to Bauer Media Group USA LLC to be more than $28,000, adding to what the court has called “a growing body of law in this District devoted to the question of whether and when to impose sanctions on Mr. Liebowitz.”
