Acer Products Infringed SVV’s LED Display Patents, Jury Says (1)

Acer Inc. owes SVV Technology Innovations Inc. over $10.3 million for willingly infringing patents covering LED technology in monitors.

A federal jury determined LED technology Acer placed in its gaming monitors infringed the California-based company’s US Patent Nos. 10,838,135; 8,740,397; 10,797,191 and 10,868,205 Thursday after a trial in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. The patents cover various aspects of LED-illuminated LCD technology used in display panels. The jury concluded Acer didn’t prove with convincing evidence that any claims of SVV’s patents were invalid, according to the verdict form.
