ABC Hit With Copyright Suit Over ‘Bachelor'-Aired Postcard Mural

American Broadcasting Companies Inc. infringed an artist’s and a photographer’s copyright when it aired a photo of a postcard-themed mural on an episode of reality dating show “The Bachelor,” according to a new lawsuit filed Wednesday.

Greetings Tour Inc., which comprises painter Victor “Ving” Fung and photographer Lisa Beggs, said the dating show cribbed a photo of their mural that offers “Greetings from Knoxville” in a postcard font. The show filmed in Knoxville, Tenn., in 2019 during Peter Weber’s season 24 and appears to have aired the mural art as B-roll for one of the show’s signature hometown dates.
