3M Products Violated Patent for Wound Treatment, Texas Suit Says

3M Co. infringed a New York company’s patent through the import and sale of wound dressing kits, a new federal lawsuit said.

The multinational conglomerate and its health-care spinoff Solventum Corp. willfully copied a Wound Healing Technologies Corp. patent with two wound-treatment product lines sold since at least January 2023, according to a complaintfiled Friday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. The patent owner is seeking damages and an injunction preventing future infringement by 3M and Solventum.

Solventum sells medical and oral-care products, as well as health information systems, according to its website.
