3M Co. must face trial on one allegation it violated a rival adhesive maker’s patented pressurized spray-hose canister design after a Massachusetts federal judge tossed accusations against a raft of 3M’s other spray-canister products.

Judge George A. O’Toole Jr. of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts on Thursday threw out the bulk of Evergreen Adhesives Inc.'s allegations as insufficiently detailed to support patent infringement complaints.
