A Taiwanese maker of optical filters for 3D motion sensing failed to convince the Federal Circuit it’s at risk of future litigation in its years-long dispute with a communications technology company.
The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit axed Platinum Optics Technology Inc.'s appeal of a decision saying it failed to prove parts of US Patent No. 9,354,369 to be unpatentable. The Taiwanese company therefore lacks standing for appeal, the Federal Circuit said in a precedential opinion issued Friday.
