Microchip Technology Inc. won a favorable administrative ruling Tuesday, wiping out 30 of 32 claims in a patent that a Texas-based patent holder accuse the company of infringing in a federal lawsuit.
The ruling by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board could help the Arizona chipmaker as it defends a suit filed by patent owner HD Silicon Solutions LLC in 2020 accusing Microchip Technology of infringing several of its patents.
