Volvo Car to Offset Tariff With New Model Bound for US Plant (1)

Volvo Car AB plans to step up investments at its US factory in a push to mitigate tariff costs and reignite sales in the world’s second-largest car market.

The Sweden-based carmaker aims to bring its plant in Ridgeville, South Carolina, up to full production volumes in the coming years, the company said Tuesday. The facility, which has struggled with product delays and lackluster demand for its EVs and sedans, has capacity to build as many as 150,000 vehicles annually.
