The US International Trade Commission is conducting a factfinding investigation to assess the greenhouse gas emissions intensity of domestic steel and aluminum production, according to a Thursday news release.
The commission will issue questionnaires to firms with facilities producing steel and aluminium in the United States as part of a survey to collect data on their production and GHG emissions, the USITC said.
The agency also said it is planning to submit a report to the US trade representative by Jan. 28, 2025.
