The US International Trade Commission has opened an investigation into certain passive optical network equipment, according to the agency Tuesday.
The investigation follows a complaint filed by Optimum Communications Services, Inc. that alleges violations of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, said USITC. The complainant asserts that the importation into the United States and sale of certain passive optical network equipment infringes on the company’s patents.
Optimum Communications Services request the USITC issue a permanent general exclusion order and permanent cease and desist orders.
