The Trump administration imposed fresh sanctions on 10 individuals and firms based in Iran and Venezuela over their alleged involvement in weapons trading — the latest move by the US to ramp up pressure on the two countries.
The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control on Tuesday announced the measures, including the sanctioning of a Venezuelan-based company, Empresa Aeronautica Nacional SA, who the agency said contributed to Iran’s trade in drones with Venezuela, along with its chair, Jose Jesus Urdaneta Gonzalez.
