House Republican leaders plan to showcase a tough stance on China this week as they prepare for the November elections, but some trade hawks complain that the proposed measures don’t go far enough even if they are loathe to break party ranks.

The “China Week” votes are intended to show a resolve to confront Beijing as Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, continues to cast China as a dire trade, economic and security threat. But the package has left some GOP lawmakers disappointed, according to a person familiar with the matter.
