US-China Tariff Truce Extended as Xi, Lula Unite: Supply Lines

President Donald Trump extended a tariff truce with China for another 90 days, giving US importers some breathing room to transport goods across the Pacific through what’s traditionally been peak shipping season.

He signed an order Monday lengthening their agreement to restrain the import taxes imposed on each other through Nov. 10. The postponement — which averts any re-escalation of tariffs — followed three rounds of talks between Beijing and Washington to ease export restrictions on Chinese rare earth magnets and certain US advanced technologies.
