Ukraine Ratifies EU Association Agreement, Beginning Process of Broad Legal Changes

The Ukrainian parliament voted unanimously to ratify the Association Agreement with the European Union and the Ukrainian president has signed the measure into law, officially beginning a process of legal reforms that will broadly affect Ukrainian policy and eventually open up free trade with the EU.

The document will serve as the foundation for Ukraine’s integration with the EU, including eventual membership in the union, according to the text.
