UK Lawmakers Recalled to Debate Taking Over British Steel (4)

The UK Parliament will be recalled Saturday from its Easter recess for an emergency debate on taking control of British Steel from its Chinese owners, as Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour government fights to preserve Britain’s last virgin steelmaker.

Lawmakers will be asked to return to Westminster from their breaks to debate and vote on measures to protect blast furnaces at Scunthorpe, northern England.
