UK Business and Trade Secretary Peter Kyle sowed confusion over Britain’s stance on a customs union with the EU, saying Britain should consider the notion, a position in direct opposition to his governing Labour Party’s election promises.
“We need to be having these conversations as a country about where is the best anchor, what is the best opportunity for Britain’s economy post-Brexit,” Kyle said Wednesday in an interview with CNBC in Davos. “It would be crazy not to engage with the prospect of a customs union.”
