UK Bans Russian LNG Even Though Imports Have Already Stopped

The UK will formally ban imports of liquefied natural gas from Russia, even though the nation’s super-chilled fuel already stopped arriving in British ports since Vladimir Putin started the war in Ukraine in February.

From Jan. 1, “the UK is ending all imports of Russian liquefied natural gas and supporting countries around the world in reducing their own dependency,” the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said in a tweet. “We’re cutting off Putin’s funds for his illegal war.”
