The U.K. and Ghana have signed a trade agreement that restores the duty-free and quota-free access Ghanaian exporters had to the U.K. market before Brexit, the Department of International Trade says in a statement Tuesday.
- Deal supports trading relationship that was valued at 1.2 billion pounds ($1.7 billion) in 2019
- Ghanaian products including bananas, tinned tuna, and cocoa will get tariff-free access
- U.K. exports will also benefit from tariff liberalization from 2023, including machinery, electronics and chemical products
