U.K. Lawmakers Split on Benefits of Future Trade Deal With U.S.

U.K. lawmakers remain divided over whether the benefits of a potential trade deal with the U.S. can outweigh any losses from leaving the world’s largest trading bloc.

International Trade Secretary Liam Fox said leaving the EU will allow the U.K. to strike its own bilateral trade deal with the U.S., which he called a win-win scenario. “It is possible to maintain our trade with the European Union and to improve our trade with the rest of the world,” including the U.S., “which is our largest single-nation trading partner.”
