Trump, Carney to Meet in Washington as Trade Fight Drags On (1)

Mark Carney will head to the White House next Tuesday, his second visit as Canada’s prime minister, as officials from the two countries negotiate on trade and security issues.

Carney and President Donald Trump will hold working meetings that day, according to a statement from the prime minister’s office on Friday.

Canada, the US and Mexico all launched consultations last month to prepare for a 2026 review of the North American free trade deal that Trump signed in his first term.
