TotalEnergies Paused Large US Solar Power Project Due to Tariffs

TotalEnergies SE recently postponed a large solar power energy project in the US as tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump on foreign goods reduced the expected return on the investment, said Chief Executive Officer Patrick Pouyanne.

The decision by the French energy giant is the latest sign that Trump’s policies are undercutting support for green projects. New duties on solar panel imports from several Asian nations in addition to widespread new tariffs is disrupting supply chains and markets.
