Thailand Sees Upside to Trump Court Ordered US Tariff Reset

A reset of many US tariffs to a uniform 15% will strengthen Thailand’s appeal as a manufacturing and investment hub, according to the country’s top finance official.

Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas said Monday that the shift creates a “more level playing field” for Thai goods.

The change comes after the US Supreme Court late last week struck at the legal foundations of President Donald Trump’s global “reciprocal” tariffs, which he wielded widely as leverage in talks with both friends and foes alike.
