Thai Builder Sees Plant Boom as Firms Flee Trump’s China Duties

Top Thai factory developer WHA Corp. is building new industrial parks in Thailand and Vietnam to meet demand from Chinese manufacturers rushing to relocate production abroad and dodge President Donald Trump’s China trade war.

Chinese electronics parts and appliance makers say they intend to shift production to Thailand and Vietnam, Chief Executive Officer Jareeporn Jarukornsakul said.

“Chinese companies want to sidestep the high US tariffs by moving their factories out of the country,” she said during a Thursday briefing.
