Target Loses Appeal on Chinese Ironing Table Duties

Target Corp. can’t pursue an appeal challenging millions of dollars in duties on imports of ironing tables from China because the company didn’t follow proper procedures, the Federal Circuit said Tuesday.

The U.S. maintains antidumping duties on Chinese “floor-standing, metal-top ironing tables.” U.S. manufacturer Home Products International Inc., Chinese exporter Since Hardware (Guangzhou) Co., and the U.S. government engaged in nearly a decade of litigation at the U.S. Court of International Trade over the proper duty rate for Since Hardware’s tables.
