AI Boom Propels Taiwan Economy to Fastest Growth in 4 Years (2)

Taiwan’s economy clocked one of the world’s quickest growth rates last quarter, expanding at its fastest in four years thanks to a record surge in exports as a global boom in artificial intelligence fuels demand overseas.

Gross domestic product expanded 7.96% in the second quarter from a year earlier, compared with 5.48% in the previous three months, according to a statement by the statistics bureau in Taipei on Thursday. That exceeded every forecast in a Bloomberg survey of analysts, whose median estimate was 5.7%.
