Sycamore’s Okada Focuses on Dollar for Clues on Market Direction

Mark Okada, the chief executive officer of Sycamore Tree Capital Partners, is focusing on the dollar as one of the last meaningful signals of where markets are headed as he loses confidence in benchmark US economic reports.

“Massive” data revisions have clouded the signals coming from government statistics on economic output, inflation and jobs, Okada said. As a result, he’s increasingly looking at the greenback for hints on market risk.
