SpaceX Bid to Turn Texas Starbase Into City Set for Vote in May

Elon Musk is one step closer to creating his own city in the southern tip of Texas after a local vote was set for May 3 on his bid to incorporate Starbase, the remote property where SpaceX builds and launches the billionaire’s Starship rockets.

Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino Jr. said SpaceX’s petition for incorporation of the site met all the necessary state requirements and that residents will now decide whether it should incorporate as a city.
