Severstal Loses Bid for Lower U.S. Duties on Russian Steel

Russian steelmaker Severstal lost its bid for lower U.S. antidumping duties on imports of its hot-rolled steel, a federal court ruled.

The Commerce Department hit Severstal with a hefty 184.56 percent duty rate in a periodic review of “hot-rolled flat-rolled carbon-quality steel products” that entered the U.S. between December 2014 and November 2015. The U.S. Court of International Trade upheld Commerce’s determination March 27.
