The Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday advanced on a party-line vote the nomination of Stephen A. Vaden to be a judge on the U.S. Court of International Trade.
The committee voted 12-10 to send the nomination to the Senate floor. The full Senate is expected to vote on Vaden once it finishes with the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.
Vaden serves as general counsel at the U.S. Agriculture Department. He has also worked in private practice at Patton Boggs LLP and Jones Day.
