Samsung SDI Looks to Robot Batteries to Cushion Tariffs Blow

Samsung SDI Co. is in talks with multirole humanoid robot makers to supply batteries as it seeks to diversify revenue sources to cushion the impact from US tariffs and tepid global demand for electric vehicles.

The South Korean battery maker posted a larger-than-expected operating loss for the third quarter, blaming tariffs and declining EV demand, especially in North America.
