Rubio, India’s Foreign Minister Hold Call as Trade Talks Drag On

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke about trade with his Indian counterpart on Tuesday as questions linger over when the two countries will sign a deal to ease Washington’s punitive tariffs on New Delhi.

During the call, India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Rubio discussed the ongoing bilateral trade negotiations as well as critical minerals and energy security, according to statement from the US Department of State.

The two discussed “their shared interest in strengthening economic cooperation” and expanding bilateral civil nuclear cooperation, the statement said.
