Rubio Speaks With Spanish Foreign Minister to Discuss Trade (1)

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with his Spanish counterpart Jose Manuel Albares for around 30 minutes on Wednesday, according to a Spanish foreign ministry official.

Just hours before President Donald Trump is due to announce a wide range of tariffs on US trading partners, the two diplomats discussed economic and trade relations between their countries as well as security issues, migration and Latin America.

A spokesman for the Spanish foreign ministry declined to comment. A spokesman for the US State Department didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
