Remy Cointreau SA posted slightly better-than-expected annual profit as strong growth in the Americas helped the Cognac maker stem losses from tepid demand in its critical European and Chinese markets.

Remy’s organic operating profit of €165.4 million ($192 million) in the year through March came in marginally ahead of analysts’ expectations, supported by robust sales in the Americas for some of its more expensive brands, the French spirits company said Thursday.
