Nearly half a dozen tankers laden with crude have departed from Venezuela’s coast since the Trump administration intensified efforts to curb Caracas’ oil revenue by targeting sanctioned vessels.
Most of the tankers are headed to the US and at least half of them are chartered by Chevron Corp., data from maritime intelligence firm Kpler show.
Overall, about 14 vessels have loaded in Venezuela since the blockade intensified in mid-December, and at least six of those were under sanctions. It’s not clear exactly how many of the sanctioned vessels have set sail and which destinations they were headed for since they ...
