North Korea Fires Multiple Short-Range Missiles, Seoul Says (3)

North Korea fired multiple short-range ballistic missiles off its east coast on Thursday, raising tensions in the region when South Korea is facing further political turmoil domestically.

The missiles were launched from the eastern coastal city of Wonsan between 8:10 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. and traveled up to 800 kilometers (497.1 miles) before falling into the sea, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said. Washington and Seoul have said some North Korean short-rage missiles can fly up to 900 km.
