Nintendo Patent Infringement Suit Moved to Washington

A patent infringement lawsuit against Nintendo will be moved from Delaware to Washington state, a federal judge ruled Feb. 25.

Genuine Enabling Technology LLC accuses the video game giant of infringing its patent for a method of data encoding and synchronization. A number of Nintendo’s consoles, controllers, and accessories, such as the Wii and Wii Remote, infringe this patent, according to GET’s complaint.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware granted Nintendo’s request to transfer the case to Washington, where Nintendo of America has its headquarters.
