Mexico Sends New Group of Inmates With Cartel Ties to US (3)

Mexico’s government expelled 26 inmates with suspected ties to the country’s powerful drug cartels to the US, after some of them allegedly ordered murders and other crimes from behind bars.

The transfer marks the latest security collaboration with Washington authorized by President Claudia Sheinbaum. Her government is under intense pressure to crack down on cross-border drug trafficking as US President Donald Trump has threatened punishing tariffs on Mexican goods if more progress isn’t made.
