Mexico Seen Cutting Key Rate to Three-Year Low: Decision Guide

Mexico is forecast to cut interest rates to a three-year low on Thursday as weak economic activity curbs inflationary pressure.

In a rare example of unanimity, all 29 economists surveyed by Bloomberg expect the central bank to lower its key rate a quarter percentage point, to 7.5%.

Economic activity fell 0.89% in July, its biggest monthly contraction in more than a year, on headwinds from US tariffs and fiscal constraints. The economy has been hampered by the uncertainty generated by Donald Trump’s trade policy and more restricted public spending.
