Mexico’s vehicle exports rose to the highest level since December 2020 as production rose and demand in the automotive sector increased, further supporting a return to normality from the global chip shortage.
Auto exports rose 19% in October to 267,910 vehicles versus 224,535 a year earlier, according to the national statistics agency. Production increased 8% to 278,506 units, the highest level since August 2022. Consumers bought more cars in October, increasing 19% from a year earlier to 91,101 units.
