Mauritius Cuts 2024 Sugar Production Forecast to 235,000 Tons

Sugar output for the year reduced for a second time in as many months from an initial estimate of 250,000 tons in June, Mauritius Chamber of Agriculture says in an emailed statement.

  • Latest assessment follows drop in average productivity, with cane harvest dropping to 71 tons per hectare from 72.8 tons a month ago
