Korean Power Transformer Makers Drop Challenges to U.S. Duties

ILJIN Electric Co. and Hyosung Heavy Industries Corp. are dropping their legal challenges to U.S. duty rates on large power transformers from South Korea.

The Commerce Department conducted a periodic duty review covering large power transformers from South Korea that entered the U.S. between August 2016 and July 2017. Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. was hit with an antidumping duty rate of 60.81%. All other Korean producers and exporters, including ILJIN and Hyosung, were hit with a duty rate of 15.74%.
