ITC to Investigate Imports Of Store Surveillance Systems

The ITC will investigate whether imports of certain acousto-magnetic electronic article surveillance systems, used in retail stores to deter the theft of merchandise, infringe upon certain patents in violation of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, the ITC announced Jan. 9.

A complaint was filed with the commission Dec. 11 on behalf of Tyco Fire & Security GmbH, Sensormatic Electronics LLC and Tyco Integrated Security, LLC 31 ITR 37, 1/2/14, 243 DER A-24, 12/18/13, 243 International Trade Daily, 12/18/13.

The complaint names as respondents Ningbo Signatronic Technologies Ltd. of China; All-Tag Security Americas Inc. of Boca Raton, Fla.; All-Tag Security Hong Kong ...
