Israeli Group Warns Coca-Cola to Divest Boycott-Supporting Palestinian Franchise

An Israeli advocacy group has threatened legal action against the Coca-Cola Co. unless it severs its ties with its Palestinian franchise, whose owner reportedly has made comments supporting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel.

But Coca-Cola told Bloomberg BNA June 17 that comments by Palestinian National Beverage Company Chairman Zahi Khouri “represent his own personal opinions” and “do not reflect the views of the Coca-Cola Company.”

Coca-Cola “does not have any preference for, favor or fund any religious or political causes,” the company said.
