India, EU Aim to Conclude Free Trade Deal This Year (1)

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen agreed to seal a trade deal this year, in an attempt to deepen ties at a time the US President continues to upend global trade and politics.

“A free trade agreement between the EU and India would be the largest deal of this kind anywhere in the world,” Von der Leyen said on Friday at an event in New Delhi. “You can count on my full commitment to make sure we can deliver.”
