IMF Says Further Talks Needed Before Next Pakistan Loan Tranche

The International Monetary Fund said it will continue to engage with Pakistani authorities to iron out pending issues before releasing the next loan tranche to bolster the South Asian nation’s economy.

While the IMF team made “significant progress” toward reaching a staff level agreement, it “will continue policy discussions” with a view to settling outstanding issues, the multilateral institution said in a statement Wednesday.
